This series as a sanctuary to reconnect with yourself on a deep physical level, moving toward ease and restfulness in body and mind. Utilizing such tools as self-massage techniques, somatic (body-based) meditations and movements, rich imagery, and time for rest, we wish to share with you a variety of ways to unwind.
Self-massage is a powerful therapeutic tool which can help to reduce physical tension while increasing range of motion, body awareness, and awareness of oneself in space. We will move slowly and gently toward a state of relaxation and balance, with the wisdom and experience of a multitude of years as licensed massage therapists, teachers of anatomy and movement, and devoted students of the movement arts between us. All experience levels are very welcome.
Props you will need: a set of tune-up balls, a strap or scarf/belt, bolster, two blocks and a blanket.
